Ha Tae-kyung: "If the Korean Party does not respond to the consultative body today, negotiations will be suspended... We will take the path of self-reliance"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Ha Tae-kyung, the responsible representative of the New Conservative Party, stated on the 20th that he demands the Liberty Korea Party to agree to form a consultative body for party unification within today, and if not, he will stop negotiations.

At the New Conservative Party leadership meeting held at the National Assembly Members' Office Building on the same day, Ha said in his opening remarks, "The Liberty Korea Party's insistence on unification while refusing the consultative body is not true unification but fake unification."

He added, "The New Conservative Party requested a consultative body for party unification with the Liberty Korea Party for conservative innovation and reconstruction capable of judging the Moon administration, but the Liberty Korea Party refuses to engage in bilateral talks despite wanting unification," emphasizing, "Refusing the consultative body goes against the third principle of conservative reconstruction, 'tear down the old house and build a new one,' which was agreed upon by Representative Hwang Kyo-ahn."

Ha stated, "There are legal obligations to fulfill for the new party merger. If the Liberty Korea Party continues to refuse the bilateral consultative body by today, we will stop the fake unification negotiations and take the path of self-strengthening," adding, "Even if that path leads to the brink of death, it is the only hope to create the New Conservative Party."
