A Herd of Wild Boars Appears Again on Downtown Daegu Roads

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Recently, a herd of wild boars has been appearing repeatedly in downtown Daegu, and a 'roadkill' accident occurred on a weekend afternoon.

According to Daegu Suseong District Office on the 20th, at around 8 p.m. on the 18th, a wild boar piglet was hit and killed by an SUV on a road in Icheon-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu.

The vehicle's bumper was partially damaged in the accident, but there were no casualties.

At the scene, there were 4 to 5 more wild boars, which reportedly fled to a nearby mountain immediately after the accident.

Quarantine authorities found no abnormalities on the dead wild boar's exterior, so they skipped the African Swine Fever (ASF) infection test and disposed of the carcass.
