"Korean Party, Stop Going Against History Any Longer"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 18th, the Party for Democracy and Peace stated regarding the Liberty Korea Party's satellite party for proportional representation, the Preparatory Committee for the Proportional Liberty Korea Party, changing its name to the Future Korea Party and registering it, "The Korea Party should immediately withdraw the satellite party registration and bow down to apologize to the people who wish for political development."
Lee Seung-han, spokesperson for the Party for Democracy and Peace, said in a commentary on the same day, "The Korea Party should no longer go against history," and added, "The very idea of responding to the legally decided legislative intent in the National Assembly through a loophole is unqualified for parliamentary democracy."
The spokesperson pointed out, "Although somewhat insufficient due to the interests of each party, the election reform that was passed after many twists and turns aims to reduce wasted votes and properly reflect the will of the people," and criticized, "After paralyzing the National Assembly for over a year and persisting in conflict and obstinacy, it is truly typical of the Korea Party."
He also said, "While (the Korea Party) claims to bring in new talents centered on youth and women to advocate change, the content is the reconstruction of the entrenched conservative forces," and added, "It is an act that goes against history, showing a politically shameful history to future generations for a long time."
