Jungnang-gu Temporarily Suspends Garbage Collection on January 24 and 25 During Lunar New Year Holiday

Efforts to Minimize Resident Inconvenience by Organizing Cleaning Situation Room and Operating Mobile Response Teams During the 4-Day Seollal Holiday Period

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has prepared and is implementing a "Lunar New Year Holiday Waste Management Plan" to minimize residents' inconvenience caused by the unavoidable temporary suspension of garbage collection on the 24th and 25th during the Lunar New Year holiday period.

During the Lunar New Year holiday from the 24th to the 26th, the operation of the Nowon Resource Recovery Facility and the Sudokwon Landfill Site will be closed, resulting in a halt in household waste processing. To actively respond to residents' inconvenience, the district has organized a cleaning situation room and will operate a mobile response team, while strengthening patrols at vulnerable points such as major arterial roads and multi-use facilities.

All garbage disposed of by the 23rd, before the holiday period, will be fully collected. Garbage not collected from the 24th will be collected normally starting from 6 p.m. on the 26th in areas where collection occurs on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Additionally, a thorough street cleaning will be conducted from the early morning of the 28th after the holiday.

Byun Kwang-soo, Director of the Cleaning Administration Division, said, "We ask residents to actively participate in keeping Jungnang clean by minimizing garbage disposal during the holiday period, such as temporarily storing waste inside homes and stores, so that everyone can enjoy the nation's biggest holiday, Seollal, in a clean and pleasant environment."
