Yongin City Offers Up to 300,000 KRW Reward for Collecting Illegal Street Advertisements Starting from the 23rd


[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will restart the compensation program from the 23rd, offering up to 300,000 KRW for collecting illegal street advertisements. Since 2017, Yongin City has been providing compensation of up to 300,000 KRW per month to citizens who collect illegal street advertisements within the city.


The collection targets include illegal banners attached outside designated posting boards, posters illegally posted on utility poles, street trees, street lamps, building exteriors, flyers and business card advertisements illegally distributed on roads, residential areas, and vehicles.


Legitimate advertisements, advertisements posted inside private buildings, and banners posted in dangerous locations over 2 meters high are excluded from the collection targets.


The compensation amounts by advertisement type are 1,000 KRW per horizontal banner (500 KRW for vertical banners), 5,000 KRW per 100 posters larger than A4 size, 3,000 KRW per 100 posters A4 size or smaller, 2,000 KRW per 100 flyers (500 KRW for business card type), etc.


Compensation is limited to 20,000 KRW per household per day and up to 300,000 KRW per month.


Citizens wishing to receive compensation for collection can submit the collected illegal street advertisements every Tuesday at their local eup/myeon office, community service center, or administrative welfare center.


A city official explained, "To maintain a pleasant and clean street environment, we will implement the citizen collection compensation program for illegal street advertisements starting from the 23rd of this month."
