Gwangju University Rolls Up Sleeves to Help Local Companies Expand Overseas Market Access


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju University (President Kim Hyukjong) has rolled up its sleeves to help local companies develop overseas market channels.


The Gwangju University Startup Support Group recently participated in 'CES 2020' held in Las Vegas, USA, and promoted products together with outstanding local companies DeepMedi Co., Ltd. and GenieSoft Co., Ltd., the group announced on the 14th.


'CES 2020' is considered one of the world's top three IT exhibitions along with Germany's IFA and Spain's MWC, and is recognized as the largest home appliance fair.


This year, more than 4,500 companies from 155 countries around the world participated, and about 175,000 people visited the exhibition, which ended successfully.


The CTA (Consumer Technology Association), which organizes the exhibition, presented the following technology trends to watch this year: ▲Digital Therapeutics ▲Next-generation Transportation ▲Facial Recognition Technology ▲Advancement of Robots ▲Future of Food.


At the exhibition, DeepMedi Co., Ltd. CEO Lee Kwangjin attracted attention by showcasing the health information estimation applications ‘Neul. Blood Pressure’ and ‘Hailey’ at the EUREKA PARK MIK INNOVATION HOT SPOT.


Also, GenieSoft Co., Ltd. CEO Kim Dohyun, a company specializing in AR·VR content production and services, revealed ‘Beat Smash’ at the EUREKA PARK MIK INNOVATION HOT SPOT, a VR rhythm game using k-pop that encourages dancing, competition, and replay.


Choi Wanseok, head of the Gwangju University Startup Support Group, said, “Participating in a global exhibition provided an opportunity to understand and discover global prospects,” and added, “We will continue to establish mid- to long-term plans to actively support local startup companies.”
