[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] On the 14th, the Liberty Korea Party issued a statement saying, "It was a presidential New Year's press conference that one could hardly watch until the end with a clear mind."

Lee Chang-soo, spokesperson for the Liberty Korea Party, said, "It was a copy of the president's New Year's address, which was criticized as 'self-praise,' 'escapism from reality,' and 'blaming others consistently,'" adding, "If that's the case, is there any need to waste precious airtime holding a press conference? It would have been better to gather the Blue House aides for a lecture-style session or hold a pro-Moon fan club event."

He continued, "Politics was blamed on the National Assembly, the economy on the media, security on time, and even the Cho Kuk incident was blamed on the people. The president either remained silent or evaded unfavorable issues that the public was curious about."

The spokesperson criticized, "It was a press conference that showed the president's abilities anew to the people standing at the edge of a cliff. The insight to see through North Korea's 'willingness to dialogue' that no one else can see, the boldness to talk about 'cooperation' after forcibly passing the Corruption Investigation Office Act and the Election Law, the humanity that, while apologizing for national division, hopes the people would now let go considering the hardships of former Minister Cho Kuk?after about 100 minutes, nothing was left."

Regarding livelihood issues, he said, "Ordinary citizens trying to own a home were labeled as speculative forces, and the misreading of economic realities continued. The president gave an astonishing answer that he chose to maintain stability regarding revolving-door appointments and parachute appointments, which made us doubt our ears."

The spokesperson concluded, "If there is one thing that became clear from today's press conference, it is that the president's wish to 'return as a forgotten person after his term' will not come true. He will never be forgotten as the most incompetent president and the most deaf president in the history of the Republic of Korea."
