[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) will hold the ‘2020 New Year Greeting Meeting’ at 4 p.m. on the 14th at the Donghae Culture and Arts Center of Kwangwoon University.
About 2,000 people including members of the National Assembly, city and district council members, executives of professional organizations, and residents will attend this New Year Greeting Meeting, where various figures and local residents will come together to pledge a vigorous leap forward for ‘Into Nature and Culture! Healing City Nowon’ in the Year of the Rat.
The event will proceed with a pre-ceremony performance and a presentation by the district mayor announcing the New Year’s plans. First, the pre-ceremony performance will feature a choir by the district women’s choir and a dynamic dance performance by the Honor Breakers. Following this, there will be an ‘LED Tron Dance Opening Performance’ symbolizing Nowon’s energetic start in 2020, and key figures will offer New Year’s greetings.
The presentation directly explained by Mayor Oh Seung-rok will introduce the 2020 district administration direction and over 80 major projects.

Specifically, it contains a future blueprint related to ‘creating a new Nowon where today is happy and tomorrow is anticipated,’ including projects critical to Nowon’s 100-year future such as the creation of a new economic central city due to the relocation of Changdong vehicle depot and driver’s license test site, development around Kwangwoon University Station area, and laying the foundation for residents’ healing life.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “The New Year Greeting Meeting is a place of communication to increase trust in district administration and to pledge a hopeful start to the new year,” adding, “This year, we will make it a year of further leap forward based on last year’s achievements.”
