KISA Builds High-Performance Security Products for "100G-Level Traffic Processing"

[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) announced on the 6th that, together with the Ministry of Science and ICT, it has established a high-performance information security product testing environment capable of handling 100G-class large-capacity traffic at the KISA Information Security Industry Support Center to welcome the 5G era.

The KISA Information Security Industry Support Center is a facility that provides a testing environment jointly usable by the information security industry and academia. Users can verify and improve the performance of their self-developed information security products, such as throughput, detection rate, and response time, thereby enhancing product competitiveness.

KISA promoted the introduction of the latest high-performance measurement equipment from leading global companies in the performance measurement equipment field to provide the highest specification R&D environment for domestic companies, thereby establishing the nation's first security testing environment capable of handling 100G-class traffic.

The newly introduced measurement equipment will be installed one each in the five security test labs of the Information Security Industry Support Center, which are equipped with the latest security devices, network devices, and servers.

KISA will hold a briefing session on the newly established high-performance testing environment on the 8th on the 3rd floor of the Seoul office, introducing demonstrations of the newly introduced equipment, testing procedures, and testing methods.

Additionally, four intensive training sessions on major measurement equipment will be conducted this month, and regular training will be provided thereafter to enable users to utilize the equipment more easily.

Applications to use the Information Security Industry Support Center testing environment can be made through the KISA Information Security Industry Promotion Portal website, where users can also check the status of equipment by lab and news on major events.

Shim Won-tae, head of KISA’s Information Security Industry Division, said, "Considering the speed of the 5G market expansion, if high-spec information security products capable of handling large-capacity traffic are not developed early, the golden time to secure competitiveness in the information security industry may be missed. KISA will continue to support information security SMEs so that they can develop competitive products in a timely manner."
