Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin Visits UCLA Robotics Laboratory Romela
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Yushin] Daegu City, in collaboration with Gyeongbuk Province, will participate in the ‘CES (Consumer Electronic Show) 2020 Exhibition’ held from the 7th to the 10th in the Las Vegas area, USA. Daegu City and Gyeongbuk Province plan to support local companies' entry into the global market by organizing a joint pavilion with a record number of 47 participating companies.
CES is the world's largest comprehensive home appliance and IT exhibition, and this year, it is expected that over 5,000 companies from more than 150 countries will participate. Since 2013, Daegu City has been participating in CES by creating a joint pavilion for eight consecutive years to promote the advancement of local ICT convergence small and venture businesses.
The joint exhibition pavilion will feature various promising small and venture companies and Daegu City smart city demonstration project participants in areas such as △Smart City △Future-type Vehicles △Internet of Things (IoT) △Robots △Smart Healthcare △Virtual Reality (VR) △Drones.
Daegu City plans to exchange the latest technological information and trends in the industrial sectors it has focused on and provide a meeting place where domestic and international business leaders can connect. Through this, it seeks cooperation measures to foster the region's future industries.
Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin will start by visiting the LA Korean Chamber of Commerce, followed by visits to RoMeLa (Director Dennis Hong), a robotics research institute under UCLA, and Plug and Play, the world's largest global accelerator. He will also exchange a business agreement with Mobileye.
