Top Korean girl group 2NE1 is revving up for their upcoming world tour that goes around seven countries starting this summer, according to their agency YG Entertainment.
YG announced through a press release on Wednesday that 2NE1 will set off for their world tour, "NEW EVOLUTION," co-hosted by Live Nation International, starting with their first performance taking place at Seoul's Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium on July 28 and 29.
Following their show in Seoul, 2NE1 will then jet-set to ten cities in seven countries, including the United States and Europe.
"Just like the name of 2NE1's tour 'NEW EVOLUTION,' their upcoming world tour will show how much they have evolved as a group since their last concert held in 2011," an official from YG was quoted as saying.
The rep added that the firm is open to possibilities of running additional shows in the countries listed in their itinerary, following the request of the related overseas officials.
Being one of the leading artists in the mainstream K-pop and fashion, 2NE1 has produced smashing hit songs since their debut in 2009, including "FIRE," "I DON'T CARE," "LONELY," "UGLY" and "I AM THE BEST."
In the run-up to opening the large-scale show, the girls are gearing up for their upcoming comeback to the local music scene though the official date has yet to be announced.
