Korean songstress IU is busy gearing up to make her comeback to the local music scene.
On Tuesday, a rep from her agency Loen Entertainment told 10Asia in a phone interview that IU has recently returned from shooting her music video in Italy and will drop her new album sometime in May.
IU's last release was her second full-length album "Last Fantasy" dropped six months ago and it has spawned the hit song "YOU&I," scoring a number of wins on televised music programs.
In the meantime, the teenage songstress is preparing for her nationwide tour "REAL FANTASY," which is slated to kick off at Kyunghee University's Peace Palace in Seoul, Korea on June 2.
She will then continue to perform in Ulsan, Jeonju, Suwon, Busan and Daegu.
IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, made her debut with her first mini-album "Lost and Found" in September 2008. She has since produced a number of hit songs such as "Boo," "Marshmallow" and "Nagging," a duet with 2AM member Seulong.
The artist recently made her debut into Japan with her single "Good Day" and will soon hold several shows in the country starting April 21.
