2NE1 receives more praise for music and style from MTV

Girl group 2NE1 has continued to make a name for themselves in the United States, receiving more praise for their style and music from MTV.

On Wednesday, an article on MTV IGGY's official website ranked 2NE1's leader CL's Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) performance with The Black Eyed Peas' member will.i.am and Apl.de.ap for their song "Where is the Love" as one of the best international collaborations of 2011.

MTV IGGY said, "We loved her soulful vocals and urgent rap verses......It was a reminder that the Will.i.am-produced 2NE1 album has been recorded and is now awaiting release. Now, there’s an international collaboration we can’t wait to hear."

Since 2010, it was known that will.i.am has been working with 2NE1 in producing the group's U.S. debut album although a release date has yet to be set due to their busy schedules.

Meanwhile, MTV Style posted an article titled "The Top 12 Girls To Watch In 2012" which raved about 2NE1's fashion sense.

"We're keeping our eyes glued on 2NE1 as the new year progresses, namely because of their bestie collab status with our beloved Jeremy Scott and their enviable collection of high-drama streetwear like JoyRich."

Jeremy Scott shares a close relationship with the girls having designed the pieces for the girls for their music video "Can't Nobody," collaborating with them to create their JS Collage Wings Adidas shoes as well as calling them his muse.

2NE1, formed of members Park Bom, CL, Sandara Park and Minzy, is one of the most popular girl groups since making their debut in May 2009.

The girls were previously been named best new band by MTV IGGY and held their first live performance in New York's Times Square last month.

Their hit song "I Am the Best" from their first mini-album released in summer of last year was named one of the best singles of 2011 by U.S. Slant Magazine and noted as SPIN Magazine's best pop track of 2011.

The girls are currently preparing for YG Entertainment's joint concert marking the 15th anniversary of the firm which will take place in Japan later this month.
