Top Korean agency SM Entertainment has revealed a member to one of the two new boy bands they are set to unveil.
A press release by SM said on Friday that the name of the two groups will be EXO-K and EXO-M with the former with the letter 'K,' standing for Korea, set to start on its activities in Korea and the latter with the letter 'M,' standing for Mandarin, in the China region.
EXO comes from the word exoplanet which is a planet that orbits a star in a solar system other than that of Earth, representing the fact that the upcoming groups will be new stars from an unknown world, SM explained.
It has already been known that the two teams will debut the same day with the same song but EXO-K with the Korean version of the tune and EXO-M the Chinese version.
Also, a photograph and teaser video of a member to one of the two groups, identified as KAI, was revealed to the public through the Internet yesterday midnight.
SM stated that KAI is 17 years old and extremely talented at dancing although not saying which group he will be part of.
No information on when the groups will make their debut nor how many members the groups will be composed of have been revealed.
Nonetheless, their debut is being anticipated since SM is one of the most influential entertainment agencies in Korea which has discovered, trained and now manages the careers of some of the popular K-pop idols including as Super Junior, TVXQ, and Girls' Generation.
