G.NA’s “Black & White” placed on top of Gaon's chart

Songstress G.NA’s love song claimed the No.1 spot on Gaon's singles chart last week after jumping three steps from the previous week.

“Black and White,” the title track to G.NA’s first regular album of the same name, describes of two lovers who are as different as the colors black and white. The same song had topped last week’s music cable channel Mnet’s singles chart as well.

Fomer winner “Someday” by teenage female singer IU that sings of one's hope for the future, took second place on the latest chart.

The song is one of the soundtracks to musical drama “Dream High,” (KBS, 2011) that tells about the dreams, hopes and ambitions of teenagers who yearn to make stage debuts as celebrities.

Singer and producer Park Jin-young’s ballad “If,” also from the soundtrack of "Dream High," surged 11 steps to take third place on the chart.

Meanwhile, the original soundtracks to popular TV series overtook last week's Gaon's album chart.

First on the chart was “SungKyunKwan Scandal Soundtrack” from the KBS historical series of the same name, whose tracks include “Found You,” by three-member male group JYJ, “Too Love” by Junsu and “Sad To Say” by Urbaniq.

The songs in second and third place were both from SBS' series "He's Beautiful" aired in 2009: "He's Beautiful Soundtrack Pt.2" and "He's Beautiful Soundtrack." (complete version), respectively.

The drama which was aired in 2009, starring Jang Keun-suk, Park Shin-ye, Jung Yong-hwa and Lee Hong-ki, is about a girl disguised as her twin brother to join a boy band. The show was a big hit at the time, receiving favorable reviews both at home and overseas.
