Lee Jun-hyuk cast in Uhm Tae-woong TV series

Lee Jun-hyuk [Wellmade STARM]

Korean actor Lee Jun-hyuk will be making his way back to the small screen, playing the childhood friend of Uhm Tae-woong in an upcoming KBS TV series. A press release by Wellmade STARM said that Lee will take on the adult role of Lee Jang-il, with the younger version played by ZE:A member Siwan, in KBS' Wednesday and Thursday drama "Man of the Equator" (translated title) set to air on March 14. In "Man," Lee, born into a poor family, grows up to become a star inspector and betrays his childhood friend (Uhm) for his own honor and success. The series is scripted by famed scenarist Kim In-young and will focus on people’s desire, love and forgiveness. "This will be the second time I play an inspector after 'City Hunter' while I was fascinated with the series because it deals with an individual's desire and love," Lee said in the statement. Lee first made his debut through a music video in 2006 and has since appeared in over half a dozen dramas and several movies. He is well-known in the China region for his brief appearance in SBS' "Secret Garden" and gained further popularity after starring in "City Hunter" last year with Lee Min-ho. He recently starred in China’s HunanTV’s mini-series “50% of a Fairytale" (translated title) with Chinese actors Janine Chang and Zixiao Zhu.※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
