Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 25th that it held the launch ceremony for the 2nd mentoring team for young adults preparing for independent living, called "Donghaengjigi," at the Gyeonggi Viewers' Media Center on the 24th, to support their stable settlement into society.

The "Donghaengjigi" mentoring team for young adults preparing for independent living is a specialized self-reliance support program promoted by the city, with the 1st mentoring team formed and operated since the spring of 2023. The newly launched 2nd mentoring team plans to provide customized support over the next two years, offering psychological and emotional support as well as comprehensive assistance with employment, housing, daily life management, and cultural experiences.
About 40 people attended the launch ceremony, including the 2nd mentoring team members, Namyangju Mayor Joo Kwangdeok, and Namyangju City Council Chairman Cho Seongdae. The ceremony proceeded in the following order: presentation of mentoring team certificates, a report on Donghaengjigi activities and plans for 2026, introductions of the mentoring team members, and awards for outstanding mentors in 2025.
Mayor Joo said, "The mere fact that there is someone who listens to their stories and stands by them simply because they are citizens of Namyangju gives young adults preparing for independent living great psychological stability and comfort," adding, "I send my respect, gratitude, and support to all the mentors here today for your noble hearts."
He went on to emphasize, "Thanks to all of you, young adults preparing for independent living can grow confidently as members of our city."

Meanwhile, the "Donghaengjigi Mentoring Team" plans to continue providing regular mentoring and customized support for young adults preparing for independent living, serving as a reliable companion so that they can achieve stable independence and firmly establish themselves as members of the local community.
