The chapter explained the reason for conducting the residents interview, stating, "No matter what anyone says, the true owners of Gyeongnam are its residents," and adding, "If we directly ask residents what they need and how things should change, we will find the answer to the direction Gyeongnam Province should take."

It continued, "We will visit residents in person to ask them directly what needs to change for Gyeongnam Province to become a different Gyeongnam than it is now, and what they would like to change first if they were the governor, and we will gather those responses and turn them into policy."

They added, "Through the 'Our Neighborhood Report' and the 'Gyeongnam Diagnosis Report,' we will turn the policies directly demanded by residents into key agenda items for the local elections."

Previously, through its candidate selection process for this local election, the provincial chapter finalized 31 candidates, including those for Gyeongsangnam-do governor, Gimhae mayor, Jinju mayor, as well as metropolitan council members and basic-level council members.

The candidate pool consists of 5 in Gimhae, 2 in Yangsan, 1 in Geoje, 10 in Jinju, 1 in Sacheon, 11 in Changwon, and 1 in Sancheong, and additional candidates are scheduled to be selected by party member votes in late February and early April.

In addition, during the residents interview period, the provincial chapter plans to visit marathon events, festival venues, and other sites to meet residents in person and conduct the survey.
