In advance of the 302nd Extraordinary Session to be held next week, the city has drawn up its 1st supplementary budget proposal, which increases the budget by 75,932,310,000 won. This supplementary budget plan reflects ordinary local allocation tax, finalized notifications for projects subsidized by the national and provincial governments, and the allocation of special adjustment grants, while giving priority to key projects aimed at restoring and stabilizing the livelihood economy.

Mayor Lee Donghwan said, "The budget must put the needs of citizens and the public interest first," and requested, "Please actively explain the importance and necessity of each project to the city council members and thoroughly prepare the related data."

At the meeting, Mayor Lee also reviewed the response situation to the recent outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease at a local Korean beef cattle farm. Calling for interdepartmental cooperation and stronger on-site quarantine management to prevent further spread, he said, "Strictly comply with basic quarantine rules such as managing visitors to farms, controlling access of vehicles, and operating disinfection facilities, and minimize confusion by guiding citizens and providing them with information."

He also stressed communication and exchanges to ensure competitive administrative management and effective policy implementation. Mayor Lee emphasized, "Through exchanges with the central government, the provincial government, and other local governments, we need to share Goyang City's best practices and improve our shortcomings through benchmarking." He added, "Even for projects that are being carried out nationwide, it is important to tailor them to Goyang City by reflecting local conditions and citizens' needs and giving them a distinct identity that suits the city."
