Gangwon FC presented its goals for the 2026 season as "Advancing to Final A of K League 1 for three consecutive years for the first time since the club was founded" and "Reaching the quarterfinals of the 2025-2026 ACLE and the 2026-2027 ACL2," setting out its vision as a prestigious K League club.
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province plans to expand this year’s subsidy to 13 billion won, an increase of 1 billion won from the previous year’s 12 billion won, to support the club in achieving its goals. The club also plans to secure solid finances by attracting promising sponsors within the province.
In addition, the club stated that it will maintain its best eleven without losing key players, establish a squad management system that enables it to compete simultaneously in the K League, ACL, and Korea Cup, and solidify its identity as a provincial residents’ club by fostering local talent to produce the next Yang Hyunjun and Yang Minhyeok, thereby establishing itself as an "advanced club" model.
Furthermore, by expanding communication and collaboration among the Narsha fan club, provincial residents, and the club, it plans to establish an integrated one-team management system to strengthen cohesion, while also expanding cooperation through stronger linkages with youth teams in the province and the continued operation of the futsal team Gangwon FS.
Club owner and Governor Kim Jintae said, "Gangwon FC’s strong performance is thanks to the provincial residents who have cheered us on passionately, rain or snow," adding, "As Manager Jung Kyungho said, there may be changes but there is no change in our essence. We will respond flexibly to the changing times while preserving our love for the provincial residents and our determination to win."
Representative Kim Byungji said, "If up to last season we were building the process, this year is the time to show results with clear goals," adding, "We will build a Gangwon FC that can be reborn together with the provincial residents, not only through performance but in every respect."
Meanwhile, prior to announcing the 2026 Gangwon FC vision, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province added to the spirit of sharing through the "2026 Season Ticket Purchase and Donation Relay" for children from underprivileged groups and others. The season tickets purchased at this event will be donated to the Social Welfare Council and delivered to children at welfare facilities within the province.
