"Mokpo Citizens Have Called" ... Jeon Kyungseon Runs for Mokpo Mayor Election

Press conference announcing his candidacy scheduled for the 28th

Jeon Gyeongseon, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea in the Jeonnam Provincial Council.

Jeon Kyungseon, a Democratic Party of Korea member of the Jeonnam Provincial Assembly representing Mokpo District 5, is scheduled to officially announce his bid for mayor of Mokpo in the 9th Nationwide Local Elections at 2:00 p.m. on February 28 at Mokpo Rodeo Square.

Since first entering the Mokpo City Council in the 4th Nationwide Local Elections in 2006, Assemblyman Jeon has been re-elected as a city council member and as a member of the Jeonnam Provincial Assembly, devoting his roughly 20-year political career solely to Mokpo and its citizens.

This declaration of candidacy is an expression of his strong determination to directly lead change and progress in Mokpo, based on his on-site experience and legislative achievements accumulated over many years working in the field alongside Mokpo citizens and looking after their livelihoods.

Before the press conference, Assemblyman Jeon stated, "From the very day I first wore my city council badge to this very moment, my roughly 20-year political career has been entirely dedicated to the people of Mokpo," adding, "Now I will directly channel all of that experience and passion, as mayor of Mokpo, into the everyday lives of each and every citizen."

He went on to stress, "These roughly 20 years in politics have been a period of preparation for me to become mayor of Mokpo," and added, "With the administrative experience I have accumulated as a city council member and provincial assembly member, and the execution capability I have gained in the field, I will definitely revive Mokpo's stagnant economy."

At this press conference, Assemblyman Jeon Kyungseon is expected to officially declare his candidacy and unveil his key pledges and vision for the future of Mokpo.
