Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Icheon Hospital has achieved a meaningful outcome in the field of global digital healthcare.

Recently, a domestic medical network earned a world-first "Stage 6" rating in the Continuity of Care Maturity Model (CCMM) assessed by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and Icheon Hospital served as a key participating institution within this collaborative network.
CCMM is an international standard that comprehensively evaluates the level of patient information sharing among medical institutions, interoperability of electronic medical records (EMR), referral and feedback systems, and patient-centered continuity-of-care processes. Stage 6 represents a highly advanced level of data-driven decision-making and real-time information linkage between institutions, indicating a very high standard of digital collaboration even by global benchmarks.
This achievement is evaluated as the result of regional medical institutions building a close care-coordination system centered on Samsung Medical Center in Seoul. According to media reports (Healthcare IT News), the network has integrated the operation of health information exchange (HIE), collaboration portals, and patient reporting systems, thereby minimizing information gaps before, during, and after treatment. Through this, it is reported to have achieved visible outcomes such as reducing duplicate tests, shortening waiting times for treatment, and securing continuity in treatment plans.
As a regional public medical institution, Icheon Hospital has actively participated in advancing the referral and feedback system and promoting patient information sharing, serving as a core hub to ensure that community-based continuous care is stably provided after treatment at higher-level hospitals.
Hospital Director Lee Moonhyoung stated, "This CCMM Stage 6 certification is an official recognition that regional hospitals and higher-level hospitals have been organically connected as a single treatment network," adding, "We will continue to further solidify a regionally complete healthcare system and provide continuous medical services without information gaps."
