Blue House to Establish Secretary for Public Safety...Overseeing Crime Prevention and Public Safety Policy

On the 25th, the Blue House announced that it will establish a Secretary for Public Safety under the Senior Presidential Secretary for Civil Affairs in order to strengthen the national response capacity to various crimes and threats that infringe on the lives and safety of the public, and to protect the lives and safety of the people, which are core values of state affairs under the Lee Jaemyung administration.

The Secretary for Public Safety will serve as a control tower that oversees and coordinates crime prevention and public safety policy. The office will inspect public safety policies and improve relevant laws and institutions, systematically manage countermeasures against crimes and accidents, and comprehensively analyze the state of public safety and crime to prevent and respond to factors that harm people's livelihoods.
