Strengthening Legal and Internal Control Expertise on the Board
Reducing the Proportion of Academics among Outside Directors
KB Financial Group's Outside Director Nomination Committee announced on the 25th that it has recommended one new outside director and four incumbent outside directors as candidates. The recommended candidates are scheduled to be officially appointed as outside directors of KB Financial Group following approval at the 2026 annual general shareholders' meeting to be held next month.

Seo Jungho, Managing Attorney at Deowijeu Law Firm, was recommended as a new outside director candidate with a two-year term, while incumbent outside directors Cho Hwajoon, Choi Jaehong, Kim Sungyong, and Lee Myunghwal were recommended as candidates for reappointment with a one-year term.
New outside director candidate Seo Jungho is a legal expert who passed both the Higher Civil Service Examination and the Bar Examination. After serving at the National Tax Service and the Ministry of Finance and Economy, he is currently in charge of advisory work on taxation, as well as finance, administration, and corporate matters at Deowijeu Law Firm. He also provides advisory services to related financial authorities such as the Financial Services Commission, the Financial Supervisory Service, and the Korea Customs Service, and is regarded as having a high level of understanding of the financial industry. He has served as an outside director at numerous companies, including financial institutions such as Hyundai Capital and Hanwha General Insurance.
With the addition of Attorney Seo Jungho, the Board of Directors of KB Financial Group is expected to further strengthen its legal expertise and reduce the proportion of outside directors from academia (3 members, 42%).
Meanwhile, outside director Yeo Jungseong, whose term expires this year, will step down as an outside director after the general shareholders' meeting next month upon completion of his three-year term.
