The center plans to operate an integrated, multi-grade care and after-school program and is scheduled to officially open on March 3. Changnyeong Office of Education will be fully responsible for after-school hours following the regular curriculum and for the overall provision of care services, with the aim of easing parents' anxiety and creating a safe care environment.
The briefing session held on February 24 was organized prior to the official opening to share detailed operational plans and address questions from parents of students with confirmed enrollment, faculty and staff of the relevant schools, and interested local residents.
The session proceeded in the following order: sharing the philosophy of Neulbom Changnyeong Ttasum; providing information on application and placement status by grade; explaining the daily schedule of care and after-school programs by grade; presenting the facility layout; outlining weekday and weekend transportation plans and usage methods; and guiding participants on the facility environment and other usage details. There was also time allocated to answer questions submitted in advance regarding use of the center, as well as questions raised on site.
Neulbom Changnyeong Ttasum will operate as a regional integrated care center where students from nearby small schools gather to learn and grow together with peers. In particular, the seven care classrooms will serve not only elementary school students but also children from affiliated kindergartens, providing evening and weekend care that schools find difficult to accommodate.
The center will provide care for students on weekdays and during vacations until 8 p.m., and on Saturdays it will operate a "Sports Day," allowing students to participate in sports of their choice.
By providing all-day, individualized care; operating high-quality after-school programs through the integration of small schools; and enhancing educational effectiveness through cooperation with local governments on transportation to and from the center and the provision of snacks and dinner, the center is expected to lay the groundwork for leading education-centered care.
Director of Education Lee Kyunghee stated, "Through this briefing, we will communicate sufficiently with the families who will be using the center and, after the opening in March, create a care environment where children can use the facilities safely and happily," adding, "We will develop 'Neulbom Changnyeong Ttasum' into a specialized educational model unique to Changnyeong that broadens opportunities for community activities with peers for students at small schools and actively responds to regional depopulation."
