Paju City Provides Emergency Heating Cost Support of 50,000 Won to Safety-Vulnerable Households

Paju City Invests 843.15 Million Won in Provincial Funds
16,863 Basic Livelihood and Near-Poverty Households to Benefit

Paju City in Gyeonggi Province will provide emergency heating cost support to more than 16,000 low-income households and near-poverty households in the city to ease the heating cost burden of vulnerable groups during the winter season.

The heating cost support will be provided to basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty households in Paju City as of February 4, using 843.15 million won from Gyeonggi Province’s Disaster Relief Fund. However, beneficiaries living in facilities and households of seniors or persons with disabilities that have already received heating cost support will be excluded.

For households that are already receiving cash welfare benefits, the support will be paid into their existing welfare benefit accounts without a separate application. For households that require account verification, such as those using seizure-protected bank accounts or those not receiving cash welfare benefits, the city will first confirm their account information individually and then provide the payment.

Applications can be made by visiting the local Administrative Welfare Center with an ID card and a copy of the bankbook, or by phone.

Kim Younghee, head of the Welfare Support Division, said, "We will promptly provide heating cost support to vulnerable groups facing a heavy burden due to higher winter heating bills," adding, "We will continue to do our best to provide support that can offer practical help to vulnerable groups."
