Register on IPTV to convert to points or use immediately
Sales begin on the 25th via Giftishow Biz for corporate customers only
KT Alpa announced on the 25th that Giftishow, its mobile voucher service, will exclusively launch the industry’s first “VOD Voucher.” The “VOD Voucher” is a mobile voucher that can be used to purchase VOD (Video On Demand) content. By registering it with IPTV services (KT Genie TV, SK B tv, LG U+tv), users can pay for and watch paid content such as movies and dramas.
As the use of OTT and online video content has become part of everyday life, demand has been rising not only for physical product vouchers such as coffee and bakery items, but also for digital vouchers. In line with this market shift, KT Alpa has expanded its product lineup beyond physical goods into the content domain, significantly broadening the use cases for mobile vouchers.
Another strength of this product is that users can watch a wide range of the latest content, including popular movies and dramas that have recently generated buzz. Viewers will be able to watch hit titles with the VOD Voucher from the end of February, including “If We Were a Season,” a melodrama starring Koo Kyo-hwan and Moon Ga-young that surpassed a cumulative audience of 2.5 million and received strong support from Korean moviegoers, and “Heart Man,” the first comedy film of the year starring Kwon Sang-woo.
The available voucher denominations are 5,500 won, 11,000 won, 22,000 won, 33,000 won, and 55,000 won. After registering the voucher on each IPTV channel, users can convert it into points and then use those points.
The “VOD Voucher” will first go on sale on February 25 through Giftishow Biz, which targets corporate customers, and will then be rolled out sequentially on B2C services for general customers such as 11st and Gmarket.
Lee Seok-hoon, Head of G-Commerce Business at KT Alpa, said, “After more than a year of preparation together with the three IPTV providers, we are introducing the industry’s first VOD Voucher,” adding, “We will continue to secure a competitive edge in the mobile voucher market through a differentiated product lineup.”
