Lottery Commission of the Ministry of Planning and Budget holds volunteer activity in Donui-dong on the 25th
On the 25th, the Lottery Commission of the Ministry of Planning and Budget carried out a volunteer activity titled "Jeongwol Daeboreum Lunchbox Delivery" in the jjokbangchon (single-room housing area) in Donui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
This volunteer activity was organized ahead of Jeongwol Daeboreum, the first full moon of the lunar year when people pray for peace and abundance, to put into practice the sharing value of lotteries by delivering five-grain rice lunchboxes and daily necessities to residents of the jjokbangchon.

At the launch ceremony of the 19th volunteer group held prior to the volunteer work, Im Gikeun, Vice Minister and Acting Minister of the Ministry of Planning and Budget, presented letters of appointment to actress Park Hasun, Lottery Public Relations Ambassador and head of the Happy Empathy Volunteer Corps, and to the representative of the volunteer group. During the subsequent volunteer activity, he joined more than 80 participants, including civilian members of the Lottery Commission, head of the volunteer corps actress Park Hasun, and volunteer members, in packing five-grain rice lunchboxes and daily necessities, and delivering them to 400 residents of the jjokbangchon.
In addition, Vice Minister Im personally visited households of elderly people living alone to check in on their well-being while delivering lunchboxes and daily necessities, and donated instant convenience foods to the "Warmth Storage," operated by the jjokbang counseling center, so that residents who had difficulty receiving lunchboxes on the day of the volunteer activity can use them whenever needed.
Vice Minister Im said, "I pray for the health and peace of the jjokbangchon residents throughout this year, and the government will make greater efforts to close welfare blind spots among vulnerable groups in order to build a 'warm community'."
The lottery fund is being used for welfare programs for vulnerable groups in our society. Among these, in relation to housing welfare for low-income households, the fund plans this year to support 4,300 households with jeonse rental housing and improve heating facilities for 37,000 households.
