Joint Participation of 15 Related Organizations, Creating a Venue for Sharing Tailored Support Policy Information for Resident Companies
The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Koo Chung-gon, hereinafter referred to as the Gwangyang Free Economic Zone Authority) announced that it held the "2026 Joint Briefing on Support Measures for Resident Companies" at the Jeonnam Technopark auditorium on the 24th, providing a comprehensive overview of sector-specific support policies for companies located in the Gwangyang Bay area.
This briefing was organized to enhance companies' capacity to respond in a rapidly changing global trade environment, and was attended by about 150 participants, including representatives of resident companies and officials from related organizations.

A total of 15 related organizations, including Jeonnam Technopark, the Yeosu Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Eastern Jeonnam Office of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, participated in the event and shared their key projects and support programs for 2026.
In particular, nine organizations, including Jeonnam Technopark and the Yeosu Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, presented support measures that cover all aspects of corporate management, including policy funds, employment and workforce support, product distribution channels and exports, research and development (R&D), intellectual property rights, and startup and venture fostering. Companies responded that the event was of practical help, as they were able to compare and review the programs of multiple organizations in one place.
Meanwhile, the Gwangyang Free Economic Zone Authority is regularly conducting corporate status surveys and roundtable meetings to proactively address the difficulties faced by companies. In 2026, it is newly promoting a project to distribute automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and portable breathalyzers in order to strengthen the prevention of industrial accidents and the protection of workers' health in the workplace.
Koo Chung-gon, Commissioner of the Gwangyang Free Economic Zone Authority, stated, "What matters most, even under difficult conditions, is support that companies can truly feel on the ground," adding, "We will continue to discover customized support policies and strengthen communication to support the leap forward of companies in the Gwangyang Bay area."
