The Samcheok Agricultural Technology Center announced on the 24th that three projects have been approved and secured a total project budget of 1.13 billion won: the purchase of equipment for operating scientific farming demonstration plots, the installation of an automatic agricultural machinery washing facility, and the establishment of specialized crop demonstration plots.

A total of 130 million won will be invested in the project to purchase equipment for operating scientific farming demonstration plots. The city plans to introduce a high-speed sprayer, a tractor, and a tractor-mounted laser land leveler to replace aging agricultural machinery and to strengthen training on automated and precision agricultural machinery. Through this, it intends to improve the efficiency of demonstration plot management, prevent agricultural machinery safety accidents, and enhance the quality of practical on-site training.

A total of 200 million won will be invested in the project to install an automatic agricultural machinery washing facility. One washing facility with a total floor area of 70 square meters will be installed at the Dogye branch of the agricultural machinery rental center to ensure stable management of rental agricultural machinery and improve operational efficiency.

A total of 800 million won will be invested in the project to establish specialized crop demonstration plots. The city will create multi-axis orchards, wide-span greenhouses, and seedling storage facilities to carry out comparative exhibitions of newly developed domestic varieties and demonstrations of cultivation technologies. Through this, it plans to build an advanced agricultural technology education base for farmers and focus on fostering income-generating crops that can respond to abnormal weather conditions.

An official from Samcheok City said, "Through this project, we will further strengthen the scientific farming demonstration base and enhance the competitiveness of local agriculture by expanding field-oriented education and technology dissemination."
