Signing of MOU for Smartphone Support Program for Vulnerable Children

Yangpyeong County in Gyeonggi Province (County Governor Jeon Jinseon) announced on the 24th that on the 23rd it signed a memorandum of understanding with SK Telecom Dongbu Marketing's Pino and Friends Yangpyeong branch (representative Kim Yangheon) to facilitate the smooth implementation of the Smartphone Support Program for Vulnerable Children.

This program has been prepared to help narrow the digital divide and promote welfare by providing smartphones free of charge to children from vulnerable groups in the region and covering their communication fees for six months. At the signing ceremony, Team Leader Lee Sangyun and Manager Kim Cheolseong from SK Telecom Dongbu Marketing attended and expressed their interest in the program and their commitment to cooperation.

Representative Kim Yangheon said, "While considering ways to contribute to the local community, we came up with this program," adding, "I feel a great sense of fulfillment when I see how happy the children are. We will continue to provide ongoing support for children from vulnerable groups in the future."

County Governor Jeon Jinseon said, "As the digital environment has become part of everyday life, closing the information gap is a very important task," and added, "It is meaningful that the public and private sectors are working together to improve children's access to information, and I hope this agreement will grow into a sustainable sharing initiative."
