Mayor Shin Sangjin: "Sangdaewon District 3 Will Become a New Model Case for Old Downtown Redevelopment" On the 24th, in the City Hall First Meeting Room, Shin Sangjin, Mayor of Seongnam, and Park Hyungeun, Head of the Capital Region Special Headquarters at Korea Land & Housing Corporation, along with officials from both sides, attended a project implementation agreement ceremony for the "Seongnam City 2030-2 Phase Sangdaewon 3 Redevelopment". The Sangdaewon District 3 area covered by this agreement has an area of 450,000 square meters and will accommodate approximately 8,700 households, making it the largest single-district redevelopment project in the country.

At 9:30 a.m. on the same day, in City Hall Conference Room 1, Seongnam Mayor Shin Sangjin and Park Hyungeun, Head of the Metropolitan Special Headquarters at Korea Land & Housing Corporation, along with officials from both sides, held a project implementation agreement ceremony for the "Seongnam City 2030-2 Phase Sangdaewon 3 Redevelopment."

Under the agreement, Korea Land & Housing Corporation, as the project implementer for the circular maintenance method of redevelopment, will prepare relocation measures for residents in the redevelopment area by securing public rental housing, among other means. Seongnam City will support the swift implementation of related administrative procedures, including project implementation approval and approval of the management and disposal plan. Accordingly, Seongnam City plans to designate Korea Land & Housing Corporation as the public project implementer for the Sangdaewon District 3 area and push the project forward in earnest.

The "Seongnam City 2030 Redevelopment Project," which has been promoted in stages since 2019, is being carried out using a circular maintenance method to compensate for the limitations of full-demolition redevelopment, which has a low resettlement rate for original residents. In the Phase 1 projects, Sujin District 1 (5,060 households) and Sinheung District 1 (3,754 households) have obtained project implementation approval and are in the management and disposal stage. Among the Phase 2 targets, Sinheung District 3 (3,395 households) selected Daewoo Engineering & Construction as the contractor in December last year, and Taepyeong District 3 (2,778 households) is currently in the process of selecting a contractor. Sangdaewon District 3 is the last area in the Phase 2 projects and is also the largest among all the project areas.

Mayor Shin Sangjin of Seongnam City said, "Since Sangdaewon District 3 is the last circular maintenance area in Phase 2 of the Seongnam City 2030 redevelopment project, I hope that Seongnam City and Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) will work closely together to push it forward as a model project. In particular, I ask that the project be actively promoted in a way that fully takes into account the difficulties and hardships experienced by the original residents of Seongnam City, minimizes the burden on residents, and increases the resettlement rate."
