Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Public Brand Promotion Institute at the Jeong Yakyong Library on the 24th to systematically expand the Dasan Jeong Yakyong brand and collaborate on public brand policy.

This agreement is a follow-up exchange that was arranged after the city received the 3rd Korea Public Brand Award in November last year. The city has been promoting this initiative to incorporate the philosophy and spirit of Dasan Jeong Yakyong into the city brand, expand it into policy, education, and research, and develop the Dasan Jeong Yakyong brand into a public brand that functions in a practical way.
At the signing ceremony, Mayor Joo Kwangdeok of Namyangju City and Kim Yukyung, President of the Korea Public Brand Promotion Institute, signed the agreement and reaffirmed their commitment to mutual cooperation. Afterwards, they paid their respects at the grave of Jeong Yakyong and visited Sujongsa Temple and the Majae Holy Site to reflect on Dasan’s spirit and values.
The main points of the agreement include: cooperation to promote the Dasan Jeong Yakyong brand and the city brand both domestically and internationally; sharing best practices in public branding and operating joint education and training programs; and jointly developing brand-related research and policy content. The two institutions agreed to gradually implement cooperative projects through working-level consultations.
Mayor Joo Kwangdeok said, "This agreement is a meaningful starting point for expanding the spirit of Dasan Jeong Yakyong into today’s public values," adding, "We will develop the Dasan Jeong Yakyong brand into a public brand that represents the Republic of Korea."
President Kim Yukyung said, "Namyangju City is a city that possesses both philosophy and content," and added, "Through public brand research and cooperation, we will further systematize the value of the Dasan Jeong Yakyong brand."
Building on this agreement, Namyangju City plans to strengthen the academic foundation of the Dasan Jeong Yakyong brand and to continuously pursue brand strategies linked with public policy.
