This safety inspection is based on the safety management outcomes achieved last year at agricultural and marine products wholesale markets. Over the past year, the Association inspected 30 agricultural and marine products wholesale markets across all areas, including electrical systems, heating equipment, and firefighting facilities, identifying a total of 615 risk factors and presenting practical improvement recommendations on site.

This year, the scope of inspection targets has been expanded to enhance effectiveness. In addition to the existing agricultural and marine products wholesale markets, "waste treatment facilities," where fires can cause large-scale damage, have been newly added as inspection targets to eliminate blind spots in safety.

The inspections will be conducted jointly by the Association, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and the Korea Fire Insurance Association. Experts will visit the sites to conduct detailed inspections of facilities vulnerable to fire, and in particular, they will check the rate of implementation of improvements on issues pointed out in the previous year to strengthen follow-up management. In addition, minor issues identified during the inspections will be corrected immediately on site to block fire risk factors at an early stage.

Chairman Jeong Seonyong of the Association emphasized, "Through strong cooperation with related agencies, we will eliminate safety blind spots at high-risk facilities and establish a practical fire prevention system," adding, "We will go beyond simple inspections and fulfill our social responsibility to protect the safety of local residents through on-site, close-contact safety management."
