Kim Dongyeon’s "Daldal Bus" Restarts on the 24th... First Tour Kicks Off in Namyangju on the 25th

On the 24th, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dongyeon held a launch ceremony for an on-site tour of the public livelihood economy at a site within the Gyeonggi Convergence Town in Gwanggyo, Suwon, and restarted the "Daldal Bus" initiative.

Governor Kim said, "We wrapped up the first Daldal Bus over five months starting in August last year, and from tomorrow we will begin the second Daldal Bus," adding, "If the keywords of the first Daldal Bus were listening, communication, and resolution, this time they are focus, speed, and tangible impact."

He continued, "We will focus on Gyeonggi Province's pending issues, handle them swiftly, and bring about changes that residents can truly feel," and pledged, "With six themes - housing, semiconductors, everyday social overhead capital (SOC), labor, climate, and care - we will drive the Daldal Bus forward with all our strength."

In particular, he added, "The new motto of Gyeonggi Province is 'A Plus in My Daily Life,'" and said, "We will cut living costs, close gaps, and solve employment issues so that we can change the daily lives and quality of life of our residents."

Regarding the decision to select "housing" as the first issue, Governor Kim stressed, "The Lee Jaemyung administration is making focused efforts to solve real estate problems," and added, "As the state's No. 1 partner in governance and as the official responsible for resolving issues on the ground, Gyeonggi Province will step up and directly support in the field the central government's efforts to solve the real estate problems it is prioritizing."

This on-site tour for the public livelihood economy will start in Namyangju on the 25th and run through April 3. Under the slogan "We Keep Going Until Things Change," it aims to present effective solutions to economic and livelihood issues.

Governor Kim plans to ride the "Daldal Bus" to visit key policy sites and locations with pending issues in cities and counties across the province, where he will communicate with residents and discuss implementation plans through various formats such as town hall meetings, National Assembly debates, and community meetings.

Through this, he will present actionable solutions such as institutional improvements, budget linkages, and inter-agency cooperation, and will pursue continuous, tailored support and management for civil complaints and suggestions received on-site.

On the 25th, Governor Kim plans to hold a community meeting with residents at Gyeonggi Unity in Dasan-dong, Namyangju, where he will present a vision for Gyeonggi-style public housing and for aging new towns and old downtowns, and then visit the site of the Toegyewon redevelopment and maintenance project.

The second visit will take place two days later, on the 27th, in Yongin. With "semiconductors" as the main theme, he will hold a "K-Semiconductor Mega Cluster Co-Prosperity Town Hall Meeting" at Dankook University.
