Former Mayor Lee Jinhun Runs for Suseong District Mayor in Daegu... "I Will Be the One Taking Responsibility at the Forefront"

Lee Jinhun (69), former mayor of Suseong District in Daegu, is running again for the position of Suseong District mayor.

On the 24th, through his Facebook account, Lee criticized the current administration of Suseong District, saying, "The government office building issue is at a standstill, and projects around Suseong Lake are not gaining momentum. Civil complaints have piled up, explanations have been insufficient, and decisions are slow," adding, "A city is not about buildings, but about people's lives. When the administration wavers, everyday life is the first to be shaken."

Lee went on to say, "For a long time, I have dealt with urban planning and administration in the field. I know how many interests become entangled just to draw a single line. That is why the later a decision is made, the higher the cost becomes, and the more responsibility is deferred, the heavier it grows," adding, "Now I will end my hesitation and become not someone who speaks from the outside, but someone who takes responsibility at the forefront," explaining his motivation for deciding to run.

Lee is scheduled to officially declare his candidacy for Suseong District mayor at 2 p.m. on March 4 at the People Power Party Daegu City Chapter in Beomeo-dong, Suseong District, Daegu.

Lee stated, "I will not make grand promises. I will provide sufficient explanations where they are needed, make clear decisions where they must be made, and take full responsibility for the results to the very end."

Lee, known as an expert in public administration, passed the Higher Civil Service Examination in 1978 and has served in a wide range of posts, including Director General of Economic Affairs for Daegu City, Director General of Culture and Sports, Deputy Mayor of Suseong District, and Director General for Planning and Management. He served as mayor of Suseong District in Daegu for eight years starting in 2010.
