Hampyeong-gun Wins Grand Prize in Festival Content Tourism Category for Third Consecutive Year

Hampyeong-gun in Jeollanam-do was recognized for the excellence of its festival content by winning the Grand Prize in the Festival Tourism category at the "2026 Korea Festival Content Awards".

Hampyeong-gun announced on the 24th that it had won the Grand Prize in the Festival Tourism category at the "2026 Korea Festival Content Awards" held that afternoon at the Peace & Park Convention Center in Seoul. The event was attended by Deputy County Governor Kang Hachun of Hampyeong-gun and executives and staff of the Hampyeong Festival Tourism Foundation.

The "Korea Festival Content Awards" is a prestigious award that selects outstanding festivals nationwide through a comprehensive evaluation of festival competitiveness, content excellence, economic impact on the local community, and sustainability. Hampyeong-gun has won the Grand Prize for three consecutive years since 2023, making this achievement particularly meaningful.

Hampyeong-gun received high marks for operating differentiated festival content that utilizes the region's unique natural and ecological resources, for establishing a systematic tourism infrastructure, and for implementing a participatory festival model created together with local residents.

In particular, the county was positively evaluated for its visitor-centered festival programs, its strengthened safety management system, and its achievements in revitalizing the local economy through linkage with nearby commercial districts.

An official from Hampyeong-gun said, "This award is a meaningful result that externally recognizes the achievements of festivals we have built together with our residents," adding, "We will continue to plan competitive festivals that highlight the unique characteristics of the region and enhance the cultural tourism brand value of Hampyeong."
