This development fund reflects Chairman Jeong's intention to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Kyungnam University, which has been growing into a prestigious private university in the region by nurturing creative and convergent talents who will lead regional and national development, and to support not only the strengthening of its educational and research capabilities but also the sustainable joint growth of the local community and industry.

The donated development fund will be used in line with Kyungnam University's future core talent development strategy, which is being promoted on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of its founding, for student scholarships, improvements to the educational and research environment, and university-industry collaboration and regional innovation. In particular, the university plans to contribute to building a sustainable educational ecosystem in which the local community and industry grow together by advancing practice-oriented education linked to local industries and by upgrading its student success support system.

Chairman Jeong Yeongsik said, "The university is the most important foundation for preparing the future of the region," adding, "I hope that Kyungnam University will continue to produce talents who will lead the region and the nation, based on the educational achievements it has accumulated over the past 80 years."

President Park Jaegyu responded, "I am deeply grateful for the trust and support from a company that represents the local industry in this meaningful year marking the 80th anniversary of our founding," and added, "We will make the best use of this support to nurture creative and convergent talents who will lead future industries, as a university that grows together with the region."

Chairman Jeong has received the Presidential Industrial Service Medal in 2003, the Presidential Stone Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit in 2018, the Korea Best Job Creation Company Award in 2019, the Gyeongnam Federation of Employers Management Award from the Minister of Employment and Labor in 2024, and the "Korea's Influential CEO Award" from TV Chosun in 2025.
