Kang Hunsik, Chief of Staff to the President, departed for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the 24th in his capacity as a presidential special envoy for strategic economic cooperation.

On the same day, Kang stated on his social networking service (SNS) account, "I am departing as a presidential special envoy for strategic economic cooperation for a three-day, one-night schedule."

Kang said, "I will work to expand cooperation in the fields of defense industry, artificial intelligence (AI), nuclear power, and K-culture, and in particular, to achieve tangible outcomes by enabling the Republic of Korea and the UAE to combine their technological and financial capabilities to enter third-country markets together."

Kang explained that this visit is intended to follow up on last October's summit meeting on the sidelines of APEC and November's state visit to the UAE, to conduct working-level consultations, and to reciprocate the visit to Korea last January by Khaldoon, head of the administrative authority.
