Gyeonggi Office Of Education Expands Hub And Linked Childcare Institutions To 40 Locations

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will operate a total of 40 hub and linked childcare institutions that can respond to diverse childcare needs by leveraging the conditions and strengths of each region and institution.

The office will open 18 customized hub-type institutions (morning/evening and vacation childcare) under the name "Our Neighborhood Hub Childcare Institution," where parents can directly choose and use institutions in their area during the childcare hours they prefer, as well as 4 holiday hub-type institutions that provide childcare on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

In addition, this year it will also operate 3 small-scale institutions linked with other childcare institutions in the region, and 15 institutions linked with local governments, by establishing and running a childcare linkage system with other organizations in the community.

Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will significantly increase the number of institutions operating hub-based and linked childcare pilot programs for infants and young children. Provided by Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education

Through this hub and linked childcare operation, the office expects to significantly improve childcare conditions at kindergartens and daycare centers in the region by organically connecting childcare functions between institutions and flexibly responding to various childcare demands.

In addition, it plans to continuously gather feedback on the operation of hub and linked childcare institutions and on-site opinions, and to discover robust childcare models in the future to enhance the perceived effectiveness of the integration of early childhood education and care at the field level.

Meanwhile, last year the office operated 12 institutions, including customized childcare, holiday childcare, vacation-intensive childcare, and local government-linked childcare. By organizing and operating a variety of programs suited to each institution's circumstances and conditions, it achieved a satisfaction score of 4.82 out of 5 through high-quality childcare services.
