Petpeotok Commercializes Horse AI Healthcare Technology
Petpeotok, a video artificial intelligence (AI)-based pet behavior analysis company, announced on the 24th that it has commercialized its "horse AI video analysis-based healthcare technology."
Developed through open innovation with the Korea Racing Authority, this technology is based on the animal behavior analysis capabilities Petpeotok has accumulated through its AI pet home camera service "Dogibogi." The system analyzes CCTV footage inside horse stalls 24 hours a day to detect in real time any unusual behaviors related to pain or stress in horses, and sends immediate remote alerts to caretakers when abnormal signs are detected.
Petpeotok explained that this technology has been introduced to support the successful settlement in Korea of Knicks Go, one of the world’s top racehorses, which recently arrived in the country. To prepare for stress caused by environmental changes, Petpeotok built an AI model that precisely recognizes specific behaviors of Knicks Go. This enables the early detection of even subtle abnormal signs and helps maintain the horse in optimal condition. Petpeotok’s AI healthcare system is currently installed in the Let’s Run Park Seoul and in the inpatient stalls of the equine specialty animal hospital at Jeju National University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where it plays a key role in horse health management and in preventing emergencies.
Petpeotok plans to further advance the technology through continued collaboration with the Korea Racing Authority. The company is developing a function that analyzes signs of foaling in real time based on video, with the goal of preventing birthing accidents not only at racetracks but also at ordinary horse farms, thereby contributing to improved reproductive stability and productivity in Korea’s horse industry. The company has already completed patent applications for the related technology.
Petpeotok CEO Kwon Ryunhwan said, "Building on this achievement, we will further develop our vision-based healthcare solution, which acquires behavioral data solely from video without human intervention and interprets it as veterinary health indicators."
