Along with "CES," the world's largest consumer electronics and information technology (IT) exhibition held in the United States, MWC is regarded as one of the world's two largest information and communications technology (ICT) exhibitions and as a flagship event encompassing cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. This year's event, the 39th edition, is expected to attract more than 2,900 companies, including global telecom operators, big tech (large information technology companies), and network equipment manufacturers, as well as over 100,000 visitors from 205 countries. From Korea, around 180 companies, including Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus, will participate.

KOTRA, together with 10 organizations including the Seoul Business Agency and the Korea Information and Communication Technology Industry Association, has organized an integrated Korea Pavilion with the participation of 131 companies. The participating companies will jointly promote Korea's innovative technologies by using a unified brand identity (BI) under the name "KOREA," and plan to showcase the status of Korea as a powerhouse in IT and mobile technology to the world.

Korean tech companies have already created opportunities for investment attraction and cooperation through CES. Company K, which provides automated product-return solutions, achieved investment attraction of about 300 million won through its participation in CES. At the "CES AI Innovation Plaza," a follow-up event to CES held on the 21st of last month, seven on-site memorandums of understanding (MOUs) were signed, including an investment cooperation MOU that Company V, an AI wearable device technology and manufacturing firm, concluded with an overseas company.

To continue these achievements in investment attraction and global collaboration at MWC, KOTRA plans to co-host a startup pitching event together with integrated Korea Pavilion partner organizations such as the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, the Korea Information and Communication Technology Industry Association, and Korea Water Resources Corporation. Ten Korean startups, including "Langcode," which developed an AI-based work-automation platform, and "CIT," which received a CES 2026 Innovation Award for its copper-plated glass substrates for semiconductor packaging, will conduct intensive pitching sessions to more than 50 major European investors and venture capital (VC) firms, such as Nestle, Indra, and Renfe, to seek investment and overseas expansion opportunities.

Meanwhile, among the companies participating in the Korea Pavilion, "AndOpen," which has developed a biometric composite authentication solution that does not require a network connection, has been nominated in the Best Digital Technology category at MWC's official awards ceremony, the Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO Awards), drawing attention to whether it will win.

KOTRA has built a "Digital MWC Integrated Korea Pavilion" containing information on the companies participating in the integrated Korea Pavilion and is conducting social networking service (SNS) marketing. In addition, by working with its trade centers across Europe, KOTRA is arranging on-site meetings between Korea Pavilion participants and local buyers and plans to actively support the global expansion of AI companies.

KOTRA President Kang Kyungsung said, "MWC is a global venue for B2B business cooperation, where decision-makers from tech companies around the world participate in large numbers, and it is a particularly valuable opportunity to expand contact points for investment attraction and exports in AI and wireless communications," adding, "Following CES, KOTRA will do its utmost at MWC as well to help Korean companies seize opportunities for investment attraction and overseas expansion."
