Hyosung TNC announced that on the morning of the 24th it will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation to strengthen the eco-friendly aspects of "Save Race 2026" at KakaoBank's Pangyo office.

Save Race is a charity marathon event that has been co-hosted by KakaoBank and the Korean Committee for UNICEF since 2024. All participation fees are used to support children affected by the global climate crisis, and this year's event is scheduled to be held in November.

Under this agreement, Hyosung TNC will provide participants with eco-friendly merchandise packages, including T-shirts and bags, made from its recycled fiber "Regen." The company will also apply Regen materials to large banners and other signage used at the event, then collect them after the event and upcycle them into new merchandise, thereby realizing a circular resource model.

Regen is a polyester yarn made from recycled PET bottles, launched in 2008. Compared with conventional polyester, it reduces carbon emissions during the production process by about 67% and cuts fossil fuel use by about 80%. In particular, in January this year, it became the first product in the domestic textile industry to obtain the Environmental Label certification, officially recognizing its eco-friendly competitiveness.

On-site, the "Regen Return Campaign" will also be carried out. Collection bins for used PET bottles will be installed to directly collect bottles generated at the venue, which will then be recycled back into Regen fiber. Through the "Regen Eco Truck" event booth, Hyosung TNC will showcase Regen's production and recycling process, and enable participants to join games and eco-friendly merchandise-making programs, thereby reinforcing experiential ESG messaging.

The "Regen Return Campaign" is an in-house eco-friendly initiative that began in 2022 at Hyosung TNC's Mapo headquarters. It has since expanded to all business sites, including Ulsan, Gumi, and Daegu, and is operated in a way that employees bring PET bottles to in-house collection bins and receive Regen products made from recycled bottles in return.

A Hyosung TNC representative said, "We have been leading trends in the domestic eco-friendly textile market with Regen at the center," adding, "Through our participation in Save Race 2026, we will further contribute to building a sustainable society and putting ESG management into practice."
