Heungkuk Fire & Marine Launches New Product Offering Premium Discounts for Policyholders Without "High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, or Dyslipidemia"

Heungkuk Fire & Marine Insurance announced on the 24th that it has launched the "Non-Participating HeungGood High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Dyslipidemia (3.10.5) Simple Comprehensive Insurance," which offers up to a 10% discount on premiums for healthy policyholders with pre-existing conditions who do not have the three major chronic diseases: hypertension, diabetes, or dyslipidemia (hyperlipidemia).

Heungkuk Fire & Marine Launches New Product Offering Premium Discounts for Policyholders Without "High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, or Dyslipidemia"

The biggest feature of this new product is that it offers premium discounts by subdividing whether or not the policyholder has hypertension, diabetes, or dyslipidemia, which are the main conditions among simple-underwriting insurance customers. Unlike existing simple-underwriting products, which applied the same loading rate regardless of the presence of these conditions, this product classifies customers into seven types according to their disease status (Type 1 to Type 7: hypertension; diabetes; hyperlipidemia; hypertension and diabetes; hypertension and hyperlipidemia; diabetes and hyperlipidemia; hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia) and applies differentiated loadings.

In particular, policyholders with pre-existing conditions who do not have any of the three conditions collectively referred to as "high blood pressure, diabetes, and dyslipidemia" can receive a premium discount of up to around 10% compared with Heungkuk Fire & Marine Insurance's existing 3.10.5 product.

The "Five Major Diseases (High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Dyslipidemia, Herpes Zoster, Gout) Integrated Treatment Support Benefit (Increasing Benefit Type)" has significantly expanded coverage by adding herpes zoster and gout to hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia. For the first time in the industry, it provides combined coverage for lifestyle-related diseases and, based on the fact that treatment becomes more complex when multiple diseases are diagnosed, offers an increasing insurance benefit by payment count regardless of the order in which the five diseases are diagnosed. By paying up to 10 million won in total across payment counts, it eases the long-term treatment burden on patients.

The "Cancer and Circulatory System Major Treatment Living Expense" rider, designed to close coverage gaps, also stands out. It broadly covers surgery, radiation therapy, and drug treatment at "all hospitals," not just tertiary general hospitals, and is designed not only to support medical expenses but also to take into account the living expenses of patients and their families.

A Heungkuk Fire & Marine Insurance representative said, "We expect that customers will be able to receive coverage reflecting the latest medical technologies at reasonable premium levels that match their health conditions."
