Year-round Applications for Ansim Help Me and Ansim Warning Light
From Elementary School Students to Solo Shop Owners
Denser Everyday Safety for 10 Million Seoul Citizens
The Seoul Metropolitan Government will provide the Chodeung Ansim Bell to all elementary school students in Seoul. After becoming the first in the country last year to support first- and second-grade students, the city will expand the program to all grades starting this year.
On the 24th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will begin in earnest to expand the three Seoul Daily Safety projects - Chodeung Ansim Bell, Ansim Help Me, and Ansim Warning Light.
Seoul City will expand the three "Seoul City Daily Safety" initiatives this year, including "Chodeung Ansimbel," "Ansim Helpmi," and "Ansim Gyeonggwangdeung." Seoul City.
First, the Chodeung Ansim Bell will be distributed through a system in which the city supplies the full quantity to schools that apply to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, so that every enrolled student at the applying school can receive one. Schools that have not yet applied can also receive support as long as they submit an application to the city.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to provide the devices starting with first-grade newcomers, who can be relatively more vulnerable in terms of safety. To ensure distribution coincides with the start of the new semester, the city plans to complete deliveries to all applying schools by the end of February.
The Chodeung Ansim Bell is designed in the form of a key ring so that children can carry it with them in their daily lives. In an emergency, pressing the button or pulling the ring immediately emits a warning sound of at least 120 dB. Starting this year, the alarm volume has been raised from the previous 100 dB to 120 dB or higher so that children can more effectively call for help from those nearby in dangerous situations. In addition, a USB Type-C rechargeable system, the same type used for smartphone chargers, has been adopted so that the device can be used conveniently without needing separate battery replacements.
The portable safety bell Ansim Help Me will be provided to people living or working in Seoul, with 50,000 units to be supplied in the first half of the year. The Ansim Warning Light, which protects the safety of single-owner shops such as one-person stores, will be supplied with 5,000 units in the first half of the year. In particular, this year the city will introduce a year-round, always-open application and reception system to eliminate blind spots in support caused by non-application.
Ansim Help Me is a portable safety bell that, when its button is pressed, not only emits a warning sound but also connects to a CCTV control center and, in emergencies, to police dispatch. In normal times, it can be carried attached to a bag like a key ring. In an emergency, when the emergency call button is pressed, it emits a warning sound and connects to the closed-circuit (CCTV) control center of the relevant district (gu).
The Ansim Warning Light, which protects one’s own shop, is provided by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to small stores operated by a single worker. This also includes cases where only one person is working temporarily during certain hours, such as at night. In an emergency, when the emergency bell is pressed, the warning light outside the store flashes and a siren sounds. The system is linked to the district CCTV control center, and if necessary, the police are dispatched as part of this emergency reporting equipment.
Ma Chae-sook, Director General of the Women and Family Policy Office of the Seoul Metropolitan Government, said, "We will support safe commutes to and from school for children by expanding the Chodeung Ansim Bell, which was launched for the first time in the country and received positive feedback, to all grades starting this year," adding, "From elementary school students to shop owners running their businesses alone, we will continue to expand support so that every citizen of Seoul can protect themselves from everyday anxiety."
