Strengthening Exchange and Cooperation with ASEAN Universities
Sejong University announced on February 25 that it has been selected for the third-phase new project group of the Ministry of Education's "CAMPUS Asia-AIMS" program and will begin full-scale promotion of higher education exchanges with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region.
The "CAMPUS Asia-AIMS" program is an international exchange initiative promoted by the Ministry of Education to strengthen higher education cooperation with ASEAN member states. It aims to foster global talent and build a sustainable joint Asian higher education community through student exchanges and the operation of joint curricula.
With this selection, Sejong University will solidify its cooperation with major universities in the region and, based on this, will work to cultivate convergent-type global talent and establish a sustainable international education cooperation system.
In addition, in cooperation with partner universities in the ASEAN region, including Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, the university plans to operate joint curricula and expand regular-semester dispatch programs by building a phased student exchange system linked to the Sejong International Summer Program (SISP) and overseas summer programs.
Lee Choonghoon, Director of External Relations at Sejong University, said, "Through this project, we will not only expand inter-university exchanges but also establish an international education platform to nurture global talent who will lead future high-tech industries," adding, "Based on sustainable cooperation with outstanding ASEAN talent, we will continue to strengthen our international competitiveness."
