HUFS Alumni Association Holds Regular General Meeting...Chairman Kim Deoksul Inaugurated

Strengthening Alumni Unity and Launching a New Executive Team

The Alumni Association of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies held the "2026 Regular General Meeting of the HUFS Alumni Association" on the 24th at the Sapphire Ballroom of Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul.

At this regular general meeting, an inauguration ceremony was held for Kim Deoksul (Japanese Studies, Class of 1981), chairman of Unistory Asset Management, who was elected as the 35th president of the Alumni Association. The event also featured an awards ceremony for the "Proud HUFSian Award" and the "Proud HUFS Merit Award."

The Proud HUFSian Award was given to Lee Yeonhyang, Director of the Office of Language Services at the U.S. Department of State (Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation, Korean-English, Class of 1989), who has served as a key interpreter at major diplomatic events such as Korea-U.S. summits, and to Park Sibok, CEO of Sedo Camping (Russian Studies, Class of 1975), who has led global camping culture.

The Proud HUFS Merit Award was presented to Kim Hyosun (English Education, Class of 1982), head of an academy in Shanghai, China, who has contributed to educational development and sharing for more than 20 years, and to Song Minkyoung (Graduate School of Political Science, Public Administration and Communication, Diplomacy and Security, Class of 2015), head of the Education Office at the U.S. Eighth Army Support Group in Korea, who has contributed to the expansion of commissioned education and human exchange between Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and the U.S. Eighth Army Support Group in Korea.
