New 3-Year Plan Added, Everyday-Scratch Devices Eligible for Return
Compensation Also Covers Cyber Financial Crimes Such as Phishing and Hacking
Samsung Electronics announced on the 23rd that it is newly introducing the "New Galaxy AI Subscription Club," which enhances convenience and benefits for Galaxy smartphone customers.
Since its launch in January last year, the service has been well received, with 1 out of 5 customers who purchased flagship unlocked models subscribing. The upgraded version is available to customers who purchase unlocked Galaxy S26 series models.
Specifically, in addition to the existing 1-year and 2-year plans, a new 3-year subscription option has been introduced. Customers who subscribe to the 3-year plan will receive support for the "Samsung Care Plus Smartphone Loss and Damage" product for 36 months. During the subscription period, they are provided with loss compensation (once per year, with a 25% deductible), damage compensation (no limit on the compensation amount, with a 25% deductible), free repair service, battery replacement service, and on-site repair service. In addition, if they return the device after 3 years of use, Samsung guarantees a 25% residual value based on the standard price on Samsung.com. The monthly subscription fee is 6,900 won for the 1-year and 2-year plans, and 8,900 won for the 3-year plan.
Samsung Electronics has also introduced a compensation policy for unexpected damages such as cyber financial crimes. All customers subscribed to the 1-year, 2-year, or 3-year plans can receive compensation of up to 3 million won for financial damages caused by phishing, smishing, hacking, or pharming, and up to 500,000 won for damages from fraud related to online direct transactions or online shopping malls (with a deductible equal to the larger of 20% of the loss amount or 100,000 won).
In addition, device returns are allowed even if there are everyday scratches on the device, as long as it does not have power failure, exterior damage, or an undeleted account. Customers subscribed to the service can receive after-sales service (A/S) first, without any limit on the number of times during the subscription period, through the "Samsung Care Plus exclusive counter" at Samsung Electronics Service Centers. If they choose to continue using the device after the subscription ends, they may keep Samsung Care Plus for up to 4 years.
To mark the first anniversary of the service launch, Samsung Electronics is also offering re-subscription benefits for existing customers. If a customer who purchased the Galaxy S25 series and subscribed to the 1-year plan buys a new Galaxy smartphone and re-subscribes to the subscription club, Samsung will cover the subscription fee for the first 3 months and provide Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance 365 Traveler's Insurance for 1 year.
Jung Hojin, Executive Vice President and Head of Korea Business at Samsung Electronics, said, "The renewed New Galaxy AI Subscription Club has been prepared to provide customers with more benefits by expanding the range of choices and coverage," adding, "We will continue to advance the overall subscription service in line with the changing smartphone usage environment and customer needs."
