This visit by President Lula will mark the first time President Lee has received a foreign head of state on a state visit since returning to the Blue House in December last year. The two leaders plan to hold a summit on the morning of the 23rd, followed by a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony and a state banquet.

During the talks, they are expected to discuss ways to strengthen practical cooperation in various areas, including trade and investment, climate, energy, space, the defense industry, science and technology, agriculture, education and culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

The two leaders are expected to engage in in-depth discussions, as they share an emphasis on social integration and pragmatism.

In addition, during his first overseas trip last June to attend the G7 summit in Canada, President Lee held talks with President Lula and drew his empathy by sharing an anecdote about injuring his arm while working as a boy laborer, noting that President Lula also started out as a boy laborer.
