Held at DDP for Two Days from February 28
Citizens Can Directly Experience Physical AI Technologies
Seventeen domestically developed humanoids that walk, move like humans, and understand speech will gather at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will hold the "Seoul AI Festival 2026" at Art Hall 1 in DDP for two days from February 28 to March 1.
This year's event is themed "AI Spoke to Me - Physical AI in Everyday Life You Can Feel With Your Body." It is designed as a participatory festival where citizens can directly experience how artificial intelligence (AI) goes beyond software and is realized as physical AI technologies embodied in robots, devices, and wearables.
Seoul AI Festival 2026 is hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and organized by the Seoul AI Foundation. This year, the city has expanded participation by child and family visitors by aligning the schedule with the weekend before the new school term. The venue will be operated with a total of nine zones, three more than last year.
The highlight of this year's festival is the newly created "Humanoid Robot Zone." The fully autonomous agile robot "UchiBot" will be unveiled to the general public for the first time in Korea at this event. In addition, various humanoids and wearable robots, including AI Walker, NAMY, and Angel Suit H10, will be on display.
By going beyond simple demonstrations and operating the event around actual user experience, the festival is expected to showcase the potential for applying physical AI in everyday life.
A competition for family participants will also be held, continuing from last year. The AI Writing and Drawing Contest targets families accompanied by children aged 7 to 12 and will proceed in a format where participants write and draw using AI tools. Pre-registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for 50 teams per session until 4:00 p.m. on February 25, and the results will be announced at 6:00 p.m. on the same day.
Kang Okhyun, Director General of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Digital City Bureau, said, "You will be able to see firsthand how robots and AI solve everyday problems," adding, "Through this public festival that combines experience and education, we will lay the foundation for Seoul to leap forward as a leading city in physical AI."
